Sustainable development is vital for the future of our world, and requires that we move on from the age of hydrocarbons to a new age of renewable raw materials. Over the last fifteen years we have taken an active part in optimizing these alternatives to produce organic acids, alongside the major pioneers of green chemistry. Organic acids are today considered to be platform molecules and, amongst other applications, can be used in manufacturing biodegradable plastics.
Proven industrial solutions
For many years green chemistry was held back by low yield and polluting production processes. This is no longer the case today with technologies developed by us for production of exceptionally pure organic acids (lactic, succinic, gluconic, acetic, etc.) and amino acids, as well as cellulosic ethanol. These processes, combining electrodialysis, membrane filtration, chromatography & ion exchange and crystallization, have already proved themselves at an industrial level. Throughout the world there are numerous facilities in operation which have been using these processes for many years. Their advantages are:
• Reliable and customized processes for each factory, adapted to each business in order to meet qualitative and quantitative goals.
• Competitive manufacturing costs since the processes are increasingly energy efficient and require no chemical input.
• Minimal environmental impact, with limited contamination of effluent.
